| Pesky Flies Could Be Costing You Money |
Known as the horn fly it can be one of the most pervasive and most costly external parasites of cattle. There small, there black and they often can be found on the backs of cattle. There are many different products and methods out there anything for mechanical to chemical. One that stands out from the rest is Altosid® IGR Feed-Thru. Altosid® IGR Feed-Thru is ingested with cattle's feed. As they graze, cattle disperse the IGR via their manure, where horn flies lay their eggs. The IGR in Altosid® IGR mimics naturally occurring insect biochemicals that are responsible for insect development. Through this mimicry, the pupae cannot develop into breeding, biting adult horn flies. In fact, they don't even emerge from manure pats.
