Scholarship Recipient - Colt Segarra

April 19, 2021

My name is Colt Segarra and I am a 2021 graduate of Hill City High School. I grew up on a farm near Hill City and my family runs a beef cattle operation that I help with. My parents are Robert and Akiko Segarra of Harveyville and Bruce and Roseanne Billips of Hill City. I have three siblings; my older brother Alec is currently a sophomore at The University of Nebraska at Kearney and is a member of their wrestling team. My other two siblings are Liberty and Waylon and they are in 1st grade and Kindergarten respectively. I have been a 10-year member of 4-H and am currently serving as the President of the Graham County 4-H Council.  In high school I was involved in basketball, wrestling, CYO, Stuco, and FFA, and I am currently serving as the President of the Hill City FFA chapter. I enjoy playing basketball, working with livestock and hanging out with my friends.  My future plans are to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney and major in Agribusiness. After graduation, my plan is to return to my hometown area and either return to the family farm or work in an ag-related field. I feel strongly that I want to live and work in a rural community like the one I was raised in. I am very grateful to Frontier Ag, Inc for their generosity and in helping me attain my educational goals with this scholarship.
